“…Judge a man by his questions rather than his answers….” …VOLTAIRE

"Judge a man by his question, not his answer."

“Judge a man by his question, not his answer.”

Judge a man by his questions rather than his answers.” …VOLTAIRE.  Recently I attended an out-of-town Sunday School Class, where  the subject addressed was the various forms and usages of LOVE, as applied in the biblical days.  Did Peter LOVE Jesus when he denied Him three times?  Do we love Jesus?  Do we love our spouse, such that, if a person pointed a gun at our head…saying…deny Jesus, or I’ll kill your wife (or child)?  What would we do?  Is our LOVE so strong that we would give up our own life for our child, spouse, or Our Lord Jesus?  John 14:23  “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching.  My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.”  John 21:17 – He said to him the third time, “Simon, son of John, do you love me?” Peter was distressed that he had said to him a third time, “Do you love me?” and he said to him, “Lord, you know everything; you know that I love you.” [Jesus] said to him, “Feed my sheep.”  Mark 12:30-31AND YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND, AND WITH ALL YOUR STRENGTH.'” The second is this, ‘YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.’  There is no other commandment greater than these.” This idea of LOVE was widely discussed.  That is…until an elderly lady raised her hand.  She NEVER got a chance to ASK her question.  She was “waved-off,” as she and her question were summarily dismissed, seemingly, as not-important.  It had not gone un-noticed, as God was watching …and likely, was not impressed.  Her proposed comment was: With so much HATE, and evil, in the world… many people have not learned to love and respect themselves, much less, each other.  That said:  If these same people loved their neighbor as themselves, than it might explain …just why… there is NOT-MUCH-LOVE going around these days.  Another Voltaire quote:  Of all religions, the Christian should of course inspire the most tolerance, but until now Christians have been the most intolerant of all men.  I wonder… does this SS teacher need a lesson in LOVE? …Blessings…cjlb
