How does one prepare for the ‘big race?’ Well, it depends on how one’s career is shaped? There’s schooling, on-the-job-training, mentoring, appointment, inheritance, and if they’re fortunate – One’s career is EARNED.
And don’t forget the preparation one goes through while still living at home; often times…even through college, or as in recent years…even after college. How one achieves their particular definition of stardom is important, particularly from the perspective of peer competition. It’s the final outcome of the process that counts.
Did they succeed, or fail, and were the desired goals accomplished? Were they fair… and honest? Did they follow the Golden Rule? Were any dead bodies left along the way? While success is the desired affect; it’s how we achieve success that makes it a successful outcome for all involved. If all the rules of ‘the game’ are followed…then even the loser…will win, to a degree.
The Apostle Paul tells us in… 2 Timothy 4:7 – I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.
Let’s be AWARE, too… that the ‘biggest race’ of our entire competitive life is ‘out-running-satan.’ In that ‘big race,’ there is also… a process of preparation. The guidelines… the text books, the training, and ‘the instructions’ for that race… is brought to us in the form of ‘parental up-bringing,’ our church leaders, our ‘faith filled’ classmates, peers, and career associates…and, of course… The Bible.
Remember: The devil is ‘hell-bent’ on out-running us. If we have open ears, eyes, and a ‘love-filled’ heart…then we ‘all will win.’ We all can outrun the devil. BE PREPARED! With Jesus cheering us on…how can we lose?
