There are many types of fear: There is the fear of hurting one’s feelings, fear of not accomplishing goals, fear of not getting that coveted promotion, fear losing a certain political race, fear of not passing the test… then the fear of a rejected marriage proposal.
I caution those who lack fear in the common sense of the word; those who often don’t recognize when “not to do something.” The lacking of fear, often, will get you in hot water. This ‘lack of fear’…simply means…you don’t care.
Fear can be a good thing, as well. Fear may save you from a bad marriage, or the wrong job, or even keep you from doing something terribly wrong. Also, procrastination is the breeding ground of fear. Psalm 34:4…tells us: “I sought the LORD, and He heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.”
Another kind of FEAR… is the fear of the Lord. We are told in Ecclesiastes 12:13 – The end of the matter; all has been heard. Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man.
And, also… in Job 28:28, it says… And he said to man, ‘Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom, and to turn away from evil is understanding.’”
…Blessings… to all of us… as we put FEAR into perspective. …cjlb… 9/13/2017
