“…Love your spouse as you LOVE yourself…”

TWENTY-TWO Rules… for a Happy Marriage

  1. The WIFE is always RIGHT.
  2. Never both be angry at the same time.
  3. Never yell at each other unless the house in on fire.
  4. If one of you has to win an argument, let it be your mate.
  5. If you have to criticize, do it lovingly.
  6. Never bring up mistakes of the past.
  7. Neglect the whole world rather than each other.
  8. Never go to sleep with an argument unsettled.
  9. At least once every day try to say one kind or complimentary thing to your spouse.
  10. When you have done something wrong, be ready to admit it and ask for forgiveness.
  11. Never argue in front of anyone else; especially your children.
  12. It takes two to make a quarrel, and the one in the wrong is the one who does the most talking….so, keep your mouth shut.
  13. Take turns calling each other, every day, with a prayer for the day.
  14. Don’t call each other ‘ugly names.’
  15. Don’t carry anger to bed with you.
  16. Don’t play the ‘silent game.’
  17. Always sleep in the same bed.
  18. Attend Church together, as a family.
  19. Eat dinner together, as a family.
  20. Divorce is NEVER an option.
  21. Love your spouse as you ‘love yourself.’
  22. Men, regardless, if you’re right, or wrong… REMEMBER… the wife is always right.  Read #1 again.

While there should ‘always’ be mutual love, respect, understanding, and joint decision making…remember:  The Husband is the head of the household.  As told to us in Ephesians 5:25 – Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything. Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church, and gave Himself up for her.
