Most successful leaders are loaded up with dignity, or SHOULD be. It’s their “spice in life.” Having it their way…Just their mere presence demands respect and honor. They carry themselves in a prideful manner; erect, well dressed, well groomed, confident, and respectful. And, if a Leader is “real dignified,” then he exudes it. You can “smell it all around” when he walks into a room, or meeting.
I think Dignity can be “learned,” but more likely, it’s in ones DNA… and comes to one automatically. For the most part… one either has it…or doesn’t. Like most gifts from God, Dignity has to be nurtured. Genesis 9:5 says: “And for your lifeblood I will require a reckoning: from every beast I will require it and from man. From his fellow man I will require a reckoning for the life of man.”
My wife sent our three children to “dignity school,” to fill in the gaps where I failed. And, except for “fun-family-time” where we are kidding around ….my children have followed in their Mother’s footsteps… as they should have. They are dignified and refined…. And I’m still trying.
We are reminded in Psalm 16:8-11 – I have set the Lord always before me; because he is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken. Therefore my heart is glad, and my whole being rejoices; my flesh also dwells secure. For you will not abandon my soul to Sheol, or let your holy one see corruption. You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.
Also, if you really want to know where the ultimate dignity comes from, then look no further than our “own creation.” Genesis 1:27 – So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. …Blessings….cjlb….12/4/15
