“…Mr. Nice Guy….. sometimes is also Mr. Bad Guy…”

20131123_214932First Impressions:  Have you ever thought about how your first impression of someone might completely change when you get to know the person better, or engage them in some kind of meaningful dialogue?  Some people are just not who they appear to be.  I’ve known people that I thought I would really like a lot, only later, to find that they were first class X8%$#’s.  Then again, I’ve met some who I thought were first class X8%$#’s, only to find out, later, that they were genuine high-quality people, that have become valued friends.  Mr. Nice Guy, sometimes is also Mr. Bad Guy.  Several days ago, a received a call from a young lady who was on assignment from her Company to interview someone whom they thought to be a Successful Entrepreneur.  Why she called me, is still a mystery.  So, it got me to thinking.  I’ve had very limited exposure to this young lady, and have always shown her the utmost courtesy and respect (as is my normal demeanor).  But, when she comes to visit me, for the interview, it could very well be that once she starts “probing” into the depth and width of my business career, and because I would shoot entirely straight with her….she may leave with an entirely different impression than the one she has had for the last several years.  So, I guess, I must be on my “p’s and q’s,” as dare not mar my reputation any more so than it might already be.  Isn’t that what we all do…protect ourselves as much as possible?  I mean, doesn’t that make perfectly good sense?  During the course of the interview, she may pick-up on a side of me, not yet encountered, and one that may not be the flattering side of my demeanor.  She may, even, think that I may be a scoundrel…Heaven forbid.  Isaiah 2:11-12The lofty looks of man shall be humbled, and the haughtiness of men shall be bowed down, and the LORD alone shall be exalted in that day.  For the day of the LORD of hosts [shall be] upon every [one that is] proud and lofty, and upon every [one that is] lifted up; and he shall be brought low:  I pray thee Lord, let me be an instrument of Your Peace, and a conduit of Your Love.  …Blessings…cjlb…8/21/14.
