There have been, at least, 5 different movies called by the same name… The Brain, and… all having different plots. It’s strange, to me… how the brain… it is said… matures at about age… 25 years.
Under most laws, young people are recognized as adults at age 18. But recent studies about brain development… suggests that most people don’t reach full “brain maturity” until the age 25.
These studies find substantial variances in the relationship between age and intellectual abilities. Performance on processing speed, for example, peaked and began to decline early, around high school graduation; verbal and visual working memory tasks plateaued in the mid-30s; emotion-perception gradually crested in late middle-age. Finally, vocabulary continued to steadily climb into the 60s and beyond.
I can give some credence to the vocabulary claim, as I feel strongly… that my own vocabulary, at an age approaching 78… is by far, the largest, and the most utilized, as it’s ever been. Frankly… I feel SMARTER. Um?
I love to re-quote… especially those assigned to the ‘unknown author.’ One of my favorites is…. “My biggest problem is that the left part of my brain has nothing right in it. And the right side of my brain has nothing left in it.”
We are told in Romans 12-2….Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
Less we began to think that we ‘do all this on our own’… be reminded in 2 Peter 1:21… For no prophecy was ever produced by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.
Remember, too, that the ‘brain’ is part of our body… which is the Temple of the Holy Spirit…so, BEST… we take care of it, and not ABUSE it with drugs, alcohol, and other evil content…. Lest ‘it’ quits working altogether. You’ve heard the expression… garbage in… garbage out. So…be careful what you allow entry into your grey-matter.
