“…Often, to achieve our goals… we soon find out that it’s more like a “job and one-half,” requiring one to burn the candle at both ends…”

BACKSLIDING: Backsliding is “not just an issue of Salvation,” as Scripture teaches that one’s final salvation depends on the state of the soul at death. Jesus said, “He who endures to the end will be saved” (Matt. 24:13).

But backsliding is also a big issue in one’s quest of a sustaining career. We humans tend to think that once we’re saved…it’s a done deal. But Paul says in Philippians 2:12 – “Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.”

When the Management is away, we must continue to function as if they were there. Skirting our responsibilities does not get the job done. What’s the saying…when the teacher is away, the children will play. Very often, to achieve our goals… we soon find out that it’s more like a “job and one-half,” requiring one to burn the candle at both ends.

So it is in the corporate life. Even Senior Management spends too much time at playing around at Conventions, Seminars, and training programs. Even our elite Government was recently exposed for this very compromise…the idea of “entertaining themselves” at the expense of the TAXPAYER is bad enough… but Senior Management…gives them a “free-get-out-of-jail” pass.

Rather one falls from Grace at work, play, or on God’s time…we best beware. Backsliding knows “no-boundaries.”…Blessings…cjlb…4/12/16
