Who's calling who FAT?

Who’s calling who FAT?

Everybody is claiming that America is made up of a “bunch of fat people.” Who is “everybody” anyway? Until recently, I was a little on the “rounded-side.” My kids, and bride, all, said I looked good the way I was. But I wasn’t satisfied, and I knew LENT was approaching, so I had already decided that the “fasting and abstaining” process of Lent, would help me get into a “weight-loss” program. It always has worked fairly well in the past…

So, here I am, again, losing weight. Here’s what I’m doing. Breakfast: almost every day, my wife makes us a SMOOTHIE. This consists of various fruits, greens, and other “stuff.”   She blends it all together, and I have to admit… it’s pretty TASTY.  Lunch: I usually either make a small sandwich, or buy a small salad, depending where I am at the time. Dinner: Usually cereal. Any number of days, I will go COMPLETELY “food free.” Zero. Naught. And some days…just a sandwich. It’s been like this since about February 10th.

On 2/10/15, I weighed about 208; today, I weighed in at 188.  I expect to lose about another 10 lbs., at least. After I get down to about 178 (what I weighed 10 years ago), I’ll balance out my diet, such that, I will maintain a weight-range of 178-180 pounds. Note that I didn’t say anything about deserts and sweet-tea. I’ve cut that “stuff” out completely, and I’m hoping that I can leave them by the roadside, so that I can maintain my desired weight. I’ll walk a mile each day for exercise. I also exercise every morning (lift weights), and every evening (different routine). If you add every pound I lift off the ground, then, I lift an aggregate total of about 9300 pounds every day, and have for the last 15 months, and one-half that amount for the last 10-15 years. It keeps me TONED, which is why I wear my weight well.   My highest weight, (February 2013) was 215.

My “bigger point” here is this: EXERCISE can come in different forms (for me anyway). I just finished a PROJECT. I built a “ramp” to go to my dock, that measure 3’ x 10’. I made it out of TREATED lumber, so it weighs a good bit. It took me about 6 hours to build it, but… it was “more fun,” than easy (I’m not a carpenter). But the good news is… it was EXERCISE. Also, another project was working on my “sprinkler-system,” … repairing serious breaks from some construction guys. Simple walking (at least a mile) is good exercise, and it “frees-up-the-mind.” Actually, I use that “walking-time” to get in some EXTRA PRAYER time, which is both needed, and refreshing.

I keep a “hand-gripper” beside my bed, and when I’m restless (almost every night), I doo several hundred of them with each hand. If you’re interested in decreasing body fat, lifting more weight during your workout means more calories burned. “They say,” Working grip exercises into your program can also aid in preventing certain pain syndromes from chronic inflammation to tendonitis, which is generally caused by neglecting certain muscle groups and overuse of others.

Also, every night (when returning from the bathroom), I stand in front of my dresser (tall) and stand on my tip-toes 100 to 200 times. All of this will put stress on your body, and helps you sleep better, tighten your hand and leg muscles, and eats away BODY-FAT. Working you brain and your body, not only helps you lose weight, but also gives the “Holy Spirit” a comfortable Tabernacle for which to be.

“They” tell us in 1 Corinthians 6:19-20“Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.”

We may think that only drinking and smoking, spoils your body and destructs the Temple of God. But we forget about another avoidable, yet important factor… feeling lazy and keeping your body unfit. Exercising every day, having control over the food you eat, avoiding bad habits are important factors which we should practice, in order to protect

The Ultimate Gift...of...LOVE....

The Ultimate Gift…of…LOVE….

our body (the temple of the Holy Spirit) which God has created in His own Image… Blessings…cjlb…4/3/15.

Let us PAUSE for a moment, and REMEMBER that it was TODAY, some 2000 years ago, that Our Lord JESUS CHRIST died on the CROSS for the sins, of ALL of mankind; so that WE might have “life-ever-lasting,” with Him….. Thank you JESUS…. we LOVE you….
