ASSOCIATES, Co-Workers, and Peer Group: Who do you associate with, or surround yourself? How do they “size-up” against yourself? Do they work harder than you; smarter than you; come in earlier, leave later, better prepared for the task at hand, more committed, more loyal, stronger, appropriately dressed, better educated, are they better qualified, and do they exhibit a stronger faith; in fact… are they superior to you in every manner and fashion?
Is this the kind of person you want to work a long side…associate with? Is this the kind of person you would like to hire… or maybe, even…. good marriage material for you son or daughter? On average… most people are intimated by…or jealous of… this type of competition. And… they make every effort to avoid them.
As for me? This is the EXACT kind of person that I want to associate with. Someone that can stimulate me, demand more, encourage me, challenge me, one that I can learn from…and one who represents what I would like most to emulate… especially one that is representative of what God expects of me.
We are told in…James 1:2-4 says: “Dear brothers and sisters, whenever trouble comes your way, let it be an opportunity for joy. For when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be strong in character and ready for anything.”
