What IMAGE do you project? The question I ask myself, every day, is what IMAGE, or impression, do I project when encountering people in the market place of life? If they don’t see, at least, a reflection of Christ, then I am failing in my Assignment.
My primary purpose, in being a part of LinkedIn, is to MAGNIFY God’s Image to any who read my Profile, my Daily Updates, or LINK with my website: www.charlesbrookscoom; aka: BrOOKS-of-WISDOM. BrOOKS-of-WISDOM, is my attempt to provide a different, yet aggressive, perspective, on LEADERSHIP to those participating in LinkedIn, and have “asked me” to CONNECT with them.
The Standard Leadership criteria is no different for me, in this forum, than any Corporate Board Room. While, admittedly…. this is a new venture (assignment) for me…I am working HARD, every day, trying my best to go about it, the process, in such a way as to serve His purpose, and to ALSO ….. SERVE you.
Generally speaking…one’s IMAGE… is who they ARE; what they REPRESENT; what they have to OFFER others; and who they ASSOCIATE with. Do these conditions fit who you are trying to be? Is the IMAGE you project… one that you are PROUD of?
We have to ANSWER for the IMAGE we PROJECT. The IMAGE that we try to project is what we think we ought to project for someone in our position. The problem in most of this image-projection is that it is driven by pride, and “God resists the proud.”
Why is God so against pride? Some of us… so admire our self, that we are unaware of our paucity of vastly more important qualities. A proud person is wrapped up in his independence such that he will not be indebted to others. He is preoccupied with his own goodness, such that it might be.
Jeremiah 9:23 cautions us in this regard – Thus saith the LORD, Let not the wise [man] glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty [man] glory in his might, let not the rich [man] glory in his riches.
