“…Or, I could be just too old, too tired, or, just bad enough….”

20131207_191315You ever wonder who that little “voice” that we hear in our heads… talking to us?  I’m serious…now, we need to know.  There are some who think that Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde are the voices we hear…. Or the voice of good, or evil. Personally, I think that the very first voice that we hear is that of some spiritual person…. God, Jesus, our Guardian Angel, or Mr. Good Bar.  The Voice of Reason. And, the second voice we hear is satan, or one of his renegades… trying to suck all our goodness out.  We have, either a propensity to lean to good, or one to evil. I believe that the “spiritual element” is not going to put up much of a fight for us; because God made us in His image, and we already have the propensity for goodness… He is merely “reminding us,” that we are to “be good.”  Since we have FREE-WILL, we shouldn’t need more than a SNUDGE. But, because we are open to the flesh, as well, then we are also open to evil.   And it’s up to “us” to put up the fight against satan. If we call upon God, then sure, He’s there…. Ready, willing, and able. If we don’t call…. Then we’re on our own. From my own experience… I know that God is “tugging” on my heart; and all the while, I’m saying…”help me Lord,”….I am simultaneously pushing the evil button. I guess it’s my sinful nature. Now, I don’t know if it’s AGE, being smarter, more obliging, or just more faithful to the Lord; I find myself living a bit on the SAVE-SIDE.  I’m less-evil… I guess you could say. Maybe satan has finally given-up on me. Thanks be to God.  Or, I could be just too old, too tired, or, just bad enough.  Is there any difference between temptations of today, than there were 1000, 1500, or even 2000 years ago? I doubt it.  The reason I think so, is… all sin is centered around sins of the flesh; meaning sins of the world. Time doesn’t change that. Sin is always a “me” thing. Sin does not know LOVE, it does not know our neighbor.  Sin is what makes “us” feel good… at the expense of others. Sin may be personal, but it effects “all things” around us.  Ultimately, our family is effected; our career; our social life; and our personal well-being, and therefore, our health.  It is written in James 4:7Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. ….Blessings…cjlb…10/10/14
