A blind person was once asked: “Can there be anything worse than losing your eye sight?” He replied: “Yes, of course,” he answered….. “Losing your vision.” What is your vision? How far out to your vision extend; an hour, a day, maybe a week…. Possibly, even…. An entire year?
How far do you “plan-ahead?” How far into the FUTURE can you see? If your VISION goes out just a few hours, or a week at best, then you probably have a very short-range of confidence, security, and control. We all should DEVELOP ways of knowing what’s ahead. Not just in our day-to-day lives which surround our family, our job, and our social life; but most importantly… where are we going, such that we’ll find joy, fulfillment, and happiness?
What’s in store for us as we navigate through the turns, bumps, twists, and valleys of life? We need to “prayerfully consider” where we want to spend the rest of our lives. There are multiple decisions to make at every turn. Who to marry? Where to send our children to school? What career path to take, which enhances, not only our life; but one in which can enhance others? What Church to attend is also an important decision to make? Choosing a Church whose purpose is to “guide us” to ROAD to SALVATION is not a minor decision, but one that takes great discernment.
Are we caught-up in just a “worldly life,” or does “our vision” extend to where we want to spend ETERNITY? We are told in Galatians 5:16-24 – But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions.
Our VISION does not extend to the time, day, and place of our “calling,” so we must rely on God’s VISION. God has a great plan, a VISION, and that vision includes you, and me. You are special. You are different from anyone else. The great Creator God personally designed and made you the way you are….in His Image. Therefore, you have a contribution to offer that no one else can make but YOU. Ephesians 2:10 – For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. ….Blessings… cjlb…4/21/15.
