It’s a Work-In-Process. WIP they call it. I first heard this term some 55+ years ago, when working for Elgin National Watch Co. I remember clearly….WOW! That makes perfectly good sense.
In reality, WIP can, and does, apply to absolutely everything in life. It’s not confined to business terms, or industry. To further my point, and to name a few examples: Education, courting, marriage, raising children, career, business and personal relationships, life-in-general, and then funerals.
Everything is a Work-In-Progress. Planting a garden? Relate a garden to a career, or any of the above examples. You have to clear a garden area, plant the seed various seeds, see to it that it’s watered, remove the aggravating weeds, and then…the harvesting process. And, you have to do this on an on-going basis; over and over again.
The maintenance of this Garden of Life (or, WIP) is a life-long process. And, so it is with God. We should, and must, maintain our Garden with God. Failing that, our Relationship with Him, and our Salvation, is at great risk. Genesis 3:8 says, “And they heard the sound of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God among the trees of the garden.”
If we abandon God’s garden, then our relationship with Him suffers, and if not that….then… ouch! Deuteronomy 20:6 – And is there any man who has planted a vineyard and has not enjoyed its fruit? Let him go back to his house, lest he die in the battle and another man enjoy its fruit.
Thank you God…for everything. …Blessings…cjlb… 1/3/16
