My Cross is just too heavy…I’ve got more to do at work than I can possibly do in a normal work week. The Boss is just too demanding. My wife expects me to finish her “honey-do” list every evening when I get home from a demanding job. The kids just require too much of my time on the weekends. There’s just not enough time left in the week for me to go to Church, fishing, or golf. I can’t please everyone.
OK… you got my point. Rather its work, home, family, or church… we all have a cross to bear. MAN-UP…as the saying goes.
Even Jesus says in Luke 14:27 – “Whoever does not bear his own cross and come after me cannot be my disciple.” Not to mention, Exodus 20:8-11– Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. And probably the most important is found in James 1:12 – Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.
The bottom line is this: While our burdens may seem more than we care bear, Jesus promises us that we can bear the burden of our cross. I can tell you from personal experience… if you fully commit your life to Jesus Christ, Our Lord and God… and SURRENDER to His will… the load will get heavier… but the REWARD is greater.
Luke 6:22-23 -“Blessed are you when people hate you and when they exclude you and revile you and spurn your name as evil, on account of the Son of Man! Rejoice in that day, and leap for joy, for behold, your reward is great in heaven; for so their fathers did to the prophets.”
2 Timothy 3:12 – Indeed, all who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus, will be persecuted.
