MAKING WAVES: That’s one of my life’s mottos. A successful Leader is not a “wall-flower” ….rather he is one who stands out wherever he goes, in whatever he does, in whatever he says. He is a wave-maker.
I once stated that “abnormal” was my normal. Normal people don’t make waves. Abnormal people do. I would rather have someone say something negative about me, than say nothing at all.
I also, have often said… that successful Leaders should be humble. A wave-maker is not typically humble… at least… not very often. Note: I didn’t say that successful Leader cannot be successful… unless they’re humble…only that they should have humility as character trait. Humble people can ‘stand out.’ Jesus Christ… the most humble of humbles… was a stand out. And, also a successful leader…not to mention that He was a ‘wave-maker.’
We are told in Jeremiah 31:35 – Thus says the LORD, Who gives the sun for light by day And the fixed order of the moon and the stars for light by night, Who stirs up the sea so that its waves roar; The LORD of hosts is His name.
Wave makers were out there… making waves…throughout bible history. To name a few…Moses, John the Baptist, David, Joseph, Nathan, Joab, and on and on…even Peter. And for that matter….so was Judas…the betrayer…was a wave-maker.
Remember what Aristotle said: “If you want to avoid criticism, than say nothing, do nothing… and therefore…be nothing.”
As much as I hate being wrong…I’d rather be wrong than be nothing. I’d rather be a “wave-maker” than be pushed over by the wave.
