I’m a Salesman….and you’re a Salesman. Believe it or not…we’re ALL salesmen. Think about it for a moment. We HAVE to sell ourselves first… before we can sell anything to anyone. We have to sell management on new ideas, personnel, services, strategy, and products. Then the REAL SALESMAN comes in to do the hard work….INK-THE-DEAL.
He must be attuned to selling high-end, low-end; junk or treasure, New-Year, Mid-Year, or Year-end. If he’s a real estate salesman, then he’s selling good land, bad land, desert, urban, mountain, beach, mid-town or out-of-town, small lots or large, beside the ditch, in the ditch, commercial or residential. He’s having, always, to contend with close-outs, new-products, and good economy or bad; high interest or low.
Most Salesmen…I’d venture to say…are on commission only, and they EARN every dime they get. To me, Salesmen are the BACK-BONE of the economy. Without the “salesman”….nothing happens… we’re dead in the water. And, too often, they’re used, abused, and pushed around….(that will be another article). NOTE: I remember when telephone systems were so large and complex, that they were housed in a 10×10 “telephone-room.” Now they come to you on a “disk,” costing a mere $25,000.00.
We are told in Proverbs 11:30 – The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, And he who wins souls is wise. Salesmen are the “soul-winners” of the American economy. …Blessings…cjlb…4/7/16
