Sure, I delegate, assign, promote, divide… and all that, too. But, I seek, mostly, my own counsel. So, you see… it’s that SOB I look at in the mirror every morning that is the real culprit.
My advice is to seek counsel from every source; particularly from the ones who “hold-back,” those who want to “keep their SECRETES”…you know, the silent ones. The guys who keep their ideas and opinions, to themselves…close to the chest. Typically, though, these guys don’t share their thoughts very much. They’re the “quite type.” Generally, when attending business events… they’ll arrive late, and leave early; as the suspect that they’ll learn very little from the process.
Often, they have the very idea you’re in need of. Proverbs 19:20-21 says: “Listen to advice and accept instruction, that you may gain wisdom in the future. Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand.”
It wasn’t until much later in my career that I become to realize that there were people who actually respected my opinion, and sought out my ideas. Don’t misunderstand me, but I think the great minds, like Albert Einstein, Bill Gates, and Steve Jobs were “loners,” at heart. They had their best ideas while “alone,” … often in the middle of the night.
So, if you live, work, play…and worship…as a loner, or in a VACUUM… you’re doing yourself and “others” a dis-service. We are told, all too often, in scripture… about sharing. We, each, are given “certain talents,” that are designed by God…just for us. Luke 12:6-7 tells us clearly – “Are not five sparrows sold for two cents? Yet not one of them is forgotten before God. “Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear; you are more valuable than many sparrows.”
The Lord will help us in our callings, especially when we feel overwhelmed by the responsibilities. When we pray to Our Heavenly Father for guidance, He will direct us through inspiration and will bless us to serve Him, and others, well. The Lord helps those who serve Him and will add His power to their efforts.
Your power will be multiplied many times by the Lord. All He asks is that you give your best effort and the whole of your heart. Do it with a cheerful heart, and with the prayer of faith. God will send the Holy Ghost as your companion to guide you. Your efforts will be magnified in the lives of the people you serve.”
Think about it.…Blessings…cjlb.11/24/15.
