“…Sexual harassment issues have been ‘a way of life’ for centuries… and we have kept silent.  Case in point: The Jerry Sandusky Affair…”

SILENCE:  We have the right to remain silent… everything you say can be used against you.  These are some very powerful words.  Sometimes, though… we can be silent, when we ought to be vocal.

Example: When we detect someone stealing from the company, and remain silent about it… when we know that certain elected officials are acting in a clandestine manner and we set back… silently while America is being sold out, even in the unsacred halls of congress… and not voting them out of office.  When we have done something wrong… ourselves… and not making amends.  When we see an injustice done to an innocent person, and we remain silent.

More currently… we are seeing noted senior members of the Corporate world, Follywood directors, prominent actors, government officials… taking advantage of young men and women who are subject to them… in some manner.  These abused people have ‘sat silent’ for months, and many years; and by doing so… has allowed the abusers freedom to continue their ‘unreported abuse’… again and again.  These abused people have paid a horrific price in the name of their career… and even, sometimes… their safety.

I’m waiting to see when the pendulum will strike out against members of Congress, Whitehouse staff, and maybe…even… very senior elected officials… fore and aft.  These types of harassment issues have been ‘a way of life’ for centuries… and we have kept silent.  Case in point: The Jerry Sandusky Affair…. Clinton, and even… JFK.

Where is the conscience of our nation?

I remember… some years back…where a University President, as having been involved in ‘many’ homosexual relationships… for years, and the Board of Trustees ‘remained silent.’  After some 10+ years, it finally surfaced… ruining the lives of many… and the Board of Trustees… claimed: We were not aware.  Yet, ANYONE… very close to the ‘goings and comings’ of the University…KNEW.  It seemed COMMON knowledge in the university and surrounding community. Throughout the nation… there are many examples of Coaches taking advantage of student athletes …under their charge… and it is IGNORED…. Not to mention the Olympics.  And, seldom… is anyone held accountable.

This is not just about the horrific crimes… it’s equally horrific that Management, Boards of Directors, owners, church hierarchy, government officials…ALL… have remained SILENT… allowing the criminal/sexual/harassment activity to CONTINUE.  We ALL are to BLAME!!  As a nation… we have the morals of an alley-cat.

How about …when we ‘remain silent’ about God, or spiritual matters?  In my own case… Matthew 28:19 changed my life… when I realized that Jesus was talking to ME… when He said:  “Go ye therefore, teaching all nations; baptizing them in the Name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.”  I had a ‘wake-up’ call.  Where had I been?  What was I thinking?

When our Faith is tested, and we fail the test…by denying Christ. Ecclesiastes 3:7 saysA time to tear and a time to mend.  A time to be quiet and a time to speak up.

Are WE being SILENT… when we should be vocal?  Are we denying Christ?

…Blessings… as we seek good over evil, love over hate…Christ over satan….cjlb… 11/4/2017
