“…I swear to uphold the constitution of the United States…..”

Soon…we will be going to the polls to give our support to our “chosen candidates.” BrOOKS-of-WISDOM “is not a political website.” I consider this website to be a “business-man’s” website, that offers advice on navigating his/her career path, together with, sprinkles of encouragement, love, and hope; along with a good dose of how God can help you navigate life’s journey.  With that said: I’m not brain dead either.

We, as Citizens, and Voters, have an obligation to evaluate the Political Candidates running in next week’s election, and to exercise our right to VOTE. We should not take the election process lightly. As followers of Christ, we are obligated to stand on the authority of God’s Word and to vote in accordance with what God has already said!  This means we should vote for the candidate (incidental to party affiliation) whose views and policies are most in keeping with the Bible. When biblical issues are on the ballot (the protection of human life at all stages (Ps.139; Jer. 1:5; Gen 9:5-7; Lev 19:32) and the preservation of marriage and family (Gen 2:20-24; Matt. 19; Rom 1).  We are obligated to vote for what God has said, even though it may not be the most “popular stance” to take.

What I ask of you, then, is to consider this:  Does you candidate best represent your own position?  Does he/she vote according to your own moral code, ethical, and political view?  Is he honest, moral, and fair dealing?  Does he reflect your religious convictions?  Does he represent the will of God?  Then…my friend…. You got your candidate.  If (s)he doesn’t fit those criteria, then very likely, you’ve chosen the wrong person.

I would also suggest, too, that you NOT-VOTE for any candidate who has served more than six years.  We, as voters, have the right, and the obligation, to limit their term in public office.  Six years is long enough to “get-it-right.”  And, lastly, I suggest that you “pray-over” you decision, asking God to guide your vote according to His will.  God Bless you as you discern your voting rights, and remember, YOUR VOTE determines YOUR-FUTURE and that of your Children. …..Blessings….cjlb……10/25/14
