I am a SLAVE. I am a slave….to family, to friends, to society, to government, and to God. But the problem is; I am a
SLAVE in the W-R-O-N-G proportions…and at the wrong times. My life has changed over the years, wherein, my priorities have changed dramatically – in that, my children are all grown adults, my financial requirements have lessened; and my material needs have diminished; yet, I’ve not re-arranged my priorities, or resources, to better reflect those areas that are more in need, or deserving; especially in terms of spending more time with my wife and family. And, worse – my spiritual life is more in need, and I’ve routinely overlooked opportunities to strengthen my relationship with the Lord. While my WORK CAREER is, basically over; the opportunities are abound to help others hone their skills and fulfill their goals and dreams. Such thoughts arise, as to rather our careers are built around God, or is God built around our careers? We all have responsibilities to family, community, and to God that increase as we mature in age and talents. The question is: to what degree are we committed? Romans 12:6-8 – Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, in proportion to our faith; if service, in our serving; the one who teaches, in his teaching; the one who exhorts, in his exhortation; the one who contributes, in generosity; the one who leads, with zeal; the one who does acts of mercy, with cheerfulness. ..…Blessings…cjlb…1/26/14
