For those who have eyes to see, and ears to hear.…be careful….”any kind of sin” is willful…no matter how you “brand” it. Sugar coating sin will only change the taste…..it does not change the effect, or the consequence.
There are some who ‘incorrectly think’ that SIN is just what I do when ‘no one is looking.’ Again, some… think that SIN just applies to ‘the other guy.’ Not me. And others, who think that it is only sin if it ‘hurts someone else.’ If SIN hurts ‘just me,’ then it’s not really sinful. And, some think that SIN ‘doesn’t count’ if you do it ‘just at work’….not at home.
SIN is still sin… no matter who is looking, or not… no matter who is affected, or not… and no matter where you commit the sin. There are ‘no new sins.’ Sin has been around since Adam and Eve. We all sin. We all… are sinful. We all ‘fall short.’
But here is the ‘good news.’ Jesus Christ, the only Son of Our Lord God… born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified and died on the cross “for our SINS.” He arose on the third day, He ascended into Heaven, and sits on the right hand side of His Father… from this He shall come to judge, both the living and the dead.
2 Timothy 4:102 – In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and in view of his appearing and his kingdom, I give you this charge: Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction.
The substitute for SIN… is hard work, honesty, preparedness, training, fair-play (The Golden Rule), presentation, and Godly intent…and, the LOVE of our neighbor. And, MOST of all… putting God FIRST.
Wisdom is not a condition to be learned, rather… it is a Gift from God; some ask for it… some do not.
We don’t have to SIN… it is a CHOICE. Jesus, simply, is asking us to believe in Him… that He died on the cross… so that we might have life everlasting, with Him, and to ‘try very hard’ … not to SIN.
