DARKNESS: Too often, we find ourselves in the “dark” as to what our future might be, how to achieve success, how to keep “Momma” happy, how to compete in the career process, how to recognize the real-leader from the “wanna-be’s,” how to influence our peers that we’re leadership material, and…. how to get management to recognize our accomplishments?
If you’re in the DARK on these questions, than likely, you’ll remain in the dark. The fact is… we are born blind, and we are offered sight through the power of God, but too often we reject it. What “light” there is out there; which is available to each of us… is too often rejected? Sight is a “gift”…..be ALERT to its presence…the presence of God.
The “gift of light” is given to all of “God’s children” (that would be you and me) when God created us. But, God also gave us another gift…. The gift of “freedom of choice.” That said… we MUST decide between light and darkness… good and evil… God and satan. If you are wondering why so much in your life has “gone wrong,” … your career has gone sour… your marriage is on the rocks… your children hate you… you’re drinking to excess, and you feel abandoned by your friends….and oh’yeah; it’s all God’s fault. Then it’s time to examine you status with God….
Matthew 5:14-15 – “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.
John 8:12 – Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
John 3:19-21 – And this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil. For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his works should be exposed. But whoever does what is true comes to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that his works have been carried out in God.”
Remember this… God gave His only begotten Son, to all of mankind, to all professions, to all cultures, in the form of “man crucified,” so that we might have LIGHT-EVERLASTING.
