“…The majority of our day… is dedicated to the “goings, doings & comings of work.,,”

As everyone who is FAMILIAR with my website, would KNOW… the purpose of this website…BrOOKS-of-WISDOM is; to give some BALANCE between “God and the Workplace.”  There is a ‘direct relationship to God… and the workplace.’

It’s long been my contention that God was ‘fired’ from the Board Rooms of America.  It’s ‘not my job’ to JUSTIFY GOD…. Nor am I qualified.

My job, as “commanded” of me in Matthew 28:19-20 is…So you must go and make disciples of all nations. Baptize them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.  Teach them to obey everything I have commanded you. And you can be sure that I am always with you, to the very end.”  I do this without RESERVE… or fear

I bring attention to these few verses of ‘todays reading,’ found in the ….Book of Numbers 13:1-2.25-33.14:1.26-29.34-35.  The LORD said to Moses… “Send men to reconnoiter the land of Canaan, which I am giving to the Israelites. You shall send one man from each ancestral tribe, all of them princes.”  After reconnoitering the land for forty days they returned, met Moses and Aaron and the whole community of the Israelites in the desert of Paran at Kadesh, made a report to them all, and showed them the fruit of the country.

They told Moses: “We went into the land to which you sent us. It does indeed flow with milk and honey, and here is its fruit. However, the people who are living in the land are fierce, and the towns are fortified and very strong. Besides, we saw descendants of the Anakim there.  Amalekites live in the region of the Negeb; Hittites, Jebusites and Amorites dwell in the highlands, and Canaanites along the seacoast and the banks of the Jordan.”  Caleb, however, to quiet the people toward Moses, said, “We ought to go up and seize the land, for we can certainly do so.”

But the men who had gone up with him said, “We cannot attack these people; they are too strong for us.”  So they spread discouraging reports among the Israelites about the land they had scouted, saying, “The land that we explored is a country that consumes its inhabitants. And all the people we saw there are huge men, veritable giants (the Anakim were a race of giants); we felt like mere grasshoppers, and so we must have seemed to them.”

At this, the whole community broke out with loud cries, and even in the night the people wailed. The LORD also said to Moses and Aaron: “How long will this wicked community grumble against me? I have heard the grumblings of the Israelites against me.

Tell them: By my life, says the LORD, I will do to you just what I have heard you say. Here in the desert shall your dead bodies fall. Of all your men of twenty years or more, registered in the census, who grumbled against me, Forty days you spent in scouting the land; forty years shall you suffer for your crimes: one year for each day. Thus you will realize what it means to oppose me. I, the LORD, have sworn to do this to all this wicked community that conspired against me: here in the desert they shall die to the last man.”

Most of us are awake 16 hours a day: one hour to prepare for work, 30 minutes each driving to and from work, eight hours at work. We’re already at 10 out of 16 hours. Compare that with the time we allow for spiritual work. For some of us, it’s just an hour a week. The majority of our day, then, is dedicated to the “goings, doings, & comings of work.”  The mere fact that we’re at work…indicates that God is there too.

God is fully aware of the difficulties we might encounter in the workplace, so He loaded the bible with clear instructions…both as a warning… and to encourage us about our work environment…as found in Colossians 3:23-24…Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.”

I pray, Dear Lord, continue to ‘have mercy on our souls,’ Do not punish us ‘for kicking You out of the workplace’…as you did the Israelites for disobeying you… Grant us ‘life-ever-lasting’ with You in Heaven.  Amen.

Thank you, all …for giving me ‘your ear.’  Many Blessings as you traverse the way to Heaven….cjlb…8/10/2017
