Preparation: Whenever we prepare for a new assignment, job, a social engagement, or even marriage…. We MUST go through all of the necessary stages of insuring that such assignment is successful. In the reality of life, we began that stage as early as kindergarten, elementary, middle, and high school, and then, hopefully…college. These are the beginning stages of preparation of almost any endeavor in life. We study to become proficient in certain aspects of our training. As we enter our chosen careers…we sometimes are sent to various specialized schools of training, and the occasional seminar. If we are entering a marriage; very often, our church leaders will require us to go through pre-marital preparation to insure that our marriage’s stand a better chance of success. If we’re sent to a new work assignment, we most likely will be sent for specialized training to prepare for that assignment. In the field of technology, computers, and smart phones… we are ALWAYS in some sort of training, so that we might be totally prepared to undertake the ever-changing technology. The one element that is not listed here is probably why so much of our efforts are flirting with failure. And, that would be the lack of PRAYER. In any endeavor, certainly one of great import… one should ALWAYS seek the guidance, and training, from Our Lord, Jesus Christ. Rather we are seeking guidance in some personal issue, school exams, the new job we’re seeking, enough money to pay our bills, a moral or ethical issue that we’re confronting, a marriage contract, a real estate transaction….or even the certain outcome of a popular sporting event, often, we seek the support and guidance of Our Father in Heaven. PRAYER, then, is certainly a top priority on our “preparation list.” IN GOD WE (should) TRUST. John 15:7– If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. Philippians 4:6– Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. Mark 11:24– Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. 1 Thessalonians 5:17– Pray without ceasing. …Blessings… cjlb… 7/8/14
