The Lübeck Cathedral: Started in 1173, completed in 1230, some 783 years ago, in Lubeck, Germany. This poem is inscribed on a wall of the Cathedral.
“Thus speakest Christ our LORD to us;
you call Me Master, and obey Me not;
you call Me Light, and see Me not;
you call Me Way, and walk me not;
you call Me Life, and choose Me not;
you call Me Wise, and follow Me not;
you call Me Fair, and love Me not;
you call Me Rich, and ask Me not;
you call Me Eternal, and seek Me not;
you call Me Noble, and serve Me not;
you call Me Gracious, and trust Me not;
you call Me Might, and honor Me not;
you call Me Just, and fear Me not;
. . . if I Condemn you, blame Me not.
We are told in Mark 8:38 that….”For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will also be ashamed of him when He comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels.”
The only unpardonable sin today is that of continued unbelief. There is no pardon for a person who dies in unbelief. John 3:16 tells us, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes In him shall not perish but have eternal life.” The only condition in which someone would have no forgiveness is if he/she is not among the “whoever” that believes in Him. Jesus said, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6). To reject the only means of salvation is to condemn oneself to an eternity in hell because to reject the only pardon is, obviously, unpardonable.
Dear Lord, thank you for giving me “life” and all of its abundance.
