“…The world is changing…we have to, and must, change with it…”

"...I am FIRM in my commitment..."

“…I am FIRM in my commitment…”

You know….we go through life, always…. Adjusting. Change this, change that, give up this, or that…modify….re-arrange…move…re-develop…amend…revise…reverse. It NEVER ends…it seems. But you know…for some… it NEVER starts. Some of us, simply RESIST change. For some, who refuse to change, it’s for varying reasons. Example: Some of us are just hard to get along with, we resist… just to resist. Others don’t understand the necessity of adjusting…even a little. Some are just plain scared to change. You might recognize some of them, because the wear (almost) the same clothes every day, or shoes, and still comb their hair the same way. They hate change…even a very little. Some, like me, are set in their ways, and like the “old way” of doing things. We change, but reluctantly. I became reacquainted with an old friend (of 40years ago), a few months back, and he told me that he “doesn’t-do-computers.” Gosh…how can anyone function today… without a computer. But that requires change. I did happen to notice, though, he dressed the exact same way as he did 40 years ago… but, maybe that was a coincidence. Umm. Consider, for an example, what a 1 degree change in direction might be. Well, 100 miles down the road…it’ll amount to a pretty big difference. The world is changing…we have to, and must, change with it. But, in all fairness, we don’t, and shouldn’t change some things. Things that are not subject to adjusting. For an example: morality, ethics, loyalty, devotion, and trust. We must be steadfast in these characteristics; especially when it comes to our spiritual commitments. Note too, each of these characteristics are also, to their very core, required in the development of our careers; our relationships; and our families. God does not change, as shown in Malachi 3:6 – “For I, the LORD, do not change; therefore you, O sons of Jacob, are not consumed. From the days of your fathers you have turned aside from My statutes and have not kept them.  Return to Me, and I will return to you.” The Bible describes God as unchangeable, eternal, immutable always existing. Whatever He reveals of Himself as is eternal . All His attributes are eternal, as they flow from His infinite nature who’s essence is also eternal, unchangeable. …Blessings…cjlb… 10/17/14.
