“…Then there were others who did most everything…for what they could get out of it for themselves…”

?????Let us live life to its fullest extent….in other words…live the will of God.  Ok…here we go.  Why must we humans waste our precious time, in this worldly life, and have precious little to show for it.  I’m NOT talking about stuff & things.  I’m talking about all the Godly Gifts given to us when He made us in His Image.  I’m talking about all of the “ing’s”…..Loving, giving, caring, supporting, protecting, mothering, fathering, guiding, mentoring, advising, helping, holding, hugging, housing, feeding, teaching, developing, clothing, leading, providing, kissing, admiring, preparing, beautifying….all of the “….ING’S.”  Did I leave any of the other “…ing’s” out?  Sure I did….I left out praying, baptizing, confirming, marrying.  These are all God’s gifts to His children.  I also left out the satanic issues…. like….drugging, drinking, fighting, beating, yelling, cussing, stealing, hurting, killing, and a few other evil “ing’s.”  I’ll let your common sense address those in further detail.  I’ve had any number of friends and aquaintenances die in the last year.  And, when I reflect on the lives of some of these people…I see some who have absolutely “nothing” in terms of physical assets…but they had so much more going for them.  They placed everyone ahead of themselves in every manner of speaking.  Then there were others who did most everything…for what they could get out of it for themselves.  They came first and foremost!  They may have had many physical “stuff and things,” but lacked the spiritual gifts of giving to others…first and foremost.  Some of them, who died, did so by their own hand, or over-dosed, or were killed in some sort of fight over drugs, money, whiskey, women, or over “nothing.”  Some people graved sex, drugs, and violence.  I’ll not address how they got that way, at this time, but the end-result remains the same….extreme unhappiness and loss.  They went through life nullifying, voiding, hiding, wasting, subtracting, squeezing, or extracting every ounce of decency out of the “gift-of-life.”  They spent a life-time of running away from God, instead of to God.  They hated instead of loved, and resented instead of applauding.  They wasted their Gifts, and they wasted their lives.  Have you ever thought about “praying” for the Godless people?  Let us count our blessings, and pray for those “lost souls,” that they might find the “gift of life,” In John 6:35 – Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst.  This invitation to come to Him is found throughout John’s Gospel and involves making a choice to forsake the world of “stuff and things,” and follow Him.  Believing in Jesus means placing our faith in Him that He is who He says He is, and that He will do what He says He will do, and that He is the only one who can. …Blessings…cjlb…8/11/14
