ADVERSITY vs CAPABILITY: Too often we’re inclined to use adversity as a tool to move our career ahead, when… truth be known, we’re ill-prepared, poorly trained, and weakly committed. Effectively…we’re using “circumstance and identity theft” to forge ahead…that is… until we’re found out. Some call it…faking it, until we make it.
Some may use “adversity” as a learning tool, or a scare tactic…whichever serves their purpose. For some…adversity will strengthen their resolve…for others…it is preliminary to accepting defeat. If we make poor choices, then the obvious end-result will be failure, if not, public humiliation; depending on the nature and scope of our responsibility….and leadership.
There are no short-cuts to success, as every step has a price of admission. Be it career, family, or spiritual; there is always a price. As the popular saying goes…there is no such thing as a “free lunch.”
Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.”
Jeremiah 29:10-12 – “For thus says the LORD, ‘When seventy years have been completed for Babylon, I will visit you and fulfill My good word to you, to bring you back to this place. For I know the plans that I have for you’ declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope. ‘Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you.
