CONFIDENCE: I’ve always been a bit overly confident, and it’s worked well for me. I mean… after all… which would one want to be noted for…being over confident…or, lacking in confidence. I favor the former.
There can be a fine line between being confident, and having a bit of arrogance. There will always be the naysayers who confuse the two. For me…I favor a bit of both, as I think both add charm to one’s journey to success. It would be better, though to develop a sense of balance between these two ingredients… such that they ‘for you’ …rather than against… less they create a negative effect.
Confidence is, also… an attribute that might be considered genetic, but more so… a product of hard work, careful preparation and execution, a shade of dare-devil-ness… all, of which… could also be genetic. Then, I would throw in a Heavenly dose of Divine intervention. Too often, being over confident gives a false impression of pending success.
I’m more concerned about ‘not enough confidence’ in Our Lord, God, Jesus Christ. A case of ‘over-confidence’ in ourselves… sometimes will lead to an ‘under-confidence’ in God.
God’s Word (the bible)… is filled with promises of strength and courage… if we place our confidence in Jesus Christ. It’s so easy to become disappointed when things don’t go ‘our way.’ We are not looking at the big picture… which is God’s plan for us…in which… we develop a more Christ-like character. We lose confidence in trusting God and begin to trust in ourselves and what we can accomplish. It’s choosing satan over Christ.
We can find comfort in…as well as CONFIDENCE…in Hebrews 4:16 – Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
And… Jeremiah 17:7 – “But blessed is the one who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in him.
