“…There is a bit of RISK in having a ‘bold personality.’  As…being BOLD… could cost one… their LIFE..!

Let us be BOLD!  One of the advantages of having one’s own website (I don’t like the word BLOG) is that I can write about anything I want.   I can draw upon my own life’s experiences, that of others.  The world is my stage.  And, YES… I can, and very often… am BOLD.

Frankly speaking…I’m a bit on the BOLD side (I know… you’re surprised). I am a bit daring; a bit fearless and do risky types of things. I’m very-well… assured, and confident.  So what’s wrong with all of that?  NOTHING… really.  There is a bit of RISK in having a ‘bold personality.’  As you will see later…being BOLD… could cost one… their LIFE!

Boldness… could give one a ‘false sense’ of superiority…of power, security, confidence… and ‘other stuff.’  None of which is…. necessarily due, earned, or helpful.  One has to be very careful when mixing all of this ‘bold stuff together’… as sometimes it will, or can be EXPLOSIVE.  I know, in my own case… I have sometimes (ok… a lot of times) gotten a bit COCKY.  I’m not proud of it… but it’s just part of the playground on which I play.

On the other hand…I’ve found, over the years… that all of these characteristics have contributed handsomely to some of the success that I’ve been blessed with.  In fact, any Leader… be it an educator, husband, Corporate CEO, military…or even…an spiritual leader… if they’re not eaten up with these characteristics…then they’re going to ‘go lacking’ somewhere down the line.  Book it!

Boldness is also a measure of our faith in Our Lord God.  As in Abraham; who was boldly willing to sacrifice his son…. And King Solomon… who threatened to ‘cut a child in half’ so as to identify the true mother.  Then there is the Apostle Paul… who, while yet still humble… was as bold as they come… in ‘preaching the gospel’ at all-risk … of body and limb; and eventually… his head.

In fact, it is the Apostle Paul… who tells us in his letter to the Ephesians… in, Ephesians 3:12 Because of Christ and our faith in him, we can now come boldly and confidently into God’s presence.

And finally, there is The Christ, Jesus… who is the ‘king of boldness,’ who gave his own life… so that we could have ‘life-ever-lasting.’

Blessings…to all… as we walk the fine line between being BOLD…and arrogantly stupid.  cjlb… 11/8/2017
