The kind I’m referring to is where it’s ‘self-inflicted.’ We probably all have fallen in the ditch… at one time or another. Usually, though, we have dug that ditch ourselves… generally, because we are into something that we shouldn’t be doing or that is not in our best interest. We’ve all been there, to some degree, and getting out of that ditch is not as easy as getting in; much like losing weight…fast to come…slow to go.
Typically, we have lost our focus and our commitment; and have shoved all those to whom we love and care for… completely out the window. And, almost always… we have thrown God under the bus in the process. While friends, some family, and co-workers … all too often… will ABANDON us when we’re in TROUBLE. Always remember, though, God is just outside the door… He is the God of Patience and Forgiveness. Ask His forgiveness, repent, convert to good, and that ditch will fill soon be filled to the brim… with His Loving Grace and Mercy.
There are some 20 or 30 passages in the bible about God ‘not abandoning us,’ but this one, to me, best expresses, with Paul’s letter to the… Philippians 4:6-7 – Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
These ditches in life, are not, I’m sorry to admit… unfamiliar to me. I’ve dug a few… too many. And…God NEVER forsake me.
… Many Blessings as you AVOID the DITCHES in… life’s journey. …cjlb…10/6/2017
