“…They’re many issues in regards to returning veterans who, too often, have such deep pain that the medical community, and government, is not well trained in how to accommodate such issues; or worse….just flat out don’t care…”

Look around….everybody looks like they’re doing fine and dandy. At church, school, work, and on the lake. Everybody is happy, and life is great. Yeah! The fact is; they’re many people walking around who are quite the opposite… they just hide they pain and discomfort out of pride, embarrassment, or shame. To further the problem, most of us are oblivious to what’s going around us, because we’re so wrapped up in ourselves that we don’t notice the obvious. I know… since my own relationship with God has expanded in the last several years that I seek out the opportunity to be more “in-tune” with those around me. I pay more attention to what I say to others so that I don’t offend, or make fun of someone… out of ignorance. I look for signs of turmoil, sadness, and personality change. Often, people who are drug or alcohol abusers will send signals out, time and time again, that we look upon as “yelling wolf,” and ignore their plea for help. With the economic times that we’ve been experiencing; the last seven years; there are many who are unemployed, under-employed, and/or have lost their houses, friends, and in many cases….their families. Some even, have turned away from those they love, including their Maker, Our Lord Jesus Christ. They’re many issues in regards to returning veterans who, too often, have such deep pain that the medical community, and government, is not well trained in how to accommodate such issues; or worse….just flat out don’t care. I’m certainly not qualified to discuss these issues to any further degree, but I am qualified to suggest that we make every attempt to pay more attention to those around us. So then, what is the potential fall-out? Well, the worst case scenario is, of course…. Death. But, there are so many other options that could prevail without that being the answer. And, while I might seem a bit naive about all of this, and I am, I do know that God will, and does, provide help to ALL of us.  He is there to HELP us at every moment.  By seeking His help when we are down and out, depressed, and seemingly have lost all HOPE, can be the very thing that brings “things” make into focus for ourselves and for those that desperately are calling out for help. Jeremiah felt that way when he cried out in Lamentations 3:49-51 – The tears stream from my eyes, an artesian well of tears, until You, God, look down from on high. You look and see my tears. You listened when I called out, ‘Don’t shut your ears! Get me out of here! Save me! You came close when I called out. You said, ‘It’s going to be all right.’ “You took my side, Master – You brought me back to life!   John 10:10 Jesus said –I have come that you might have life. My purpose is to give you a rich, happy and satisfying life.…Blessings…cjlb…….8/16/14
