“…This is why we see the younger up-start sitting in the office of the seasoned veteran, long after closing time…digging deep in the old fellow’s grey matter…”

Image result for caricature of man with white hair of wisdomWISDOM…let’s talk about ‘that’ for a moment. Wisdom is something that the Corporate World has relied on for decades, actually forever. The passing of the wand; sort of speak. Corporate cannot survive without the Wisdom of the old Regime. …Exceptions…of course.

This is why we see the younger up-start sitting in the office of the seasoned veteran, long after closing time…digging deep in the old fellow’s grey matter…extracting the good stuff…for his own betterment…leaving the rest for posterity.

Wisdom is not something we can ‘just decide’ one day…. that we have it, and hit the ground running… with our wisdom bubbling over. It doesn’t work that way. In fact …we either have it, or we don’t.  Because we are made in His Image, we are the receptacle for His Wisdom. We come about receiving it, through His love, grace, and mercy. Through the “gift of wisdom”… we are able to evaluate the ‘things of the world’ in view of the highest-end of man—the contemplation of God.

Though God extends to us… the gift of Wisdom, we may, also, obtain it prematurely, by asking God for it… just as Solomon did. Wisdom is God’s gift to give.  Isaiah 11:2 – And the spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord; And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the Lord.

Proverbs 20:29 tells us, “The glory of young men is their strength. Gray hair is the splendor of the old.” The Moffat translation puts it, “A young man’s strength is his charm, and gray hairs make even an old man beautiful. But what about old people and their wisdom?   From ancient times… most cultures have respected gray hair. Even today, many cultures respect gray hair, particularly Asians. To them, gray hair is a sign of wisdom.

Here’s the “best way” to obtain… WISDOM. James 1:5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.

…Blessings…2/8/16
