Too often, we spend thousands doing employment searches, hiring consultants to tell us what we already know… looking for just the right candidate; then, turn right around and hire the guy who “serves our purpose,” rather than for the purpose needed…and more likely ….hired him/her on our “gut-reaction.” Too often, the motives are illegal, self-serving, or ill-conceived… and surely not inspired by God…. The master at employment law.
Ecclesiastes 9:10 tell us in detail. “Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.”
We might be inclined to wonder how this might apply to Heaven, in that…you get what you pay for. We are judged by the path that we choose to get there. Do we try the “easy way,” the way of the “wide gate?” Or, do we squeeze through the narrow gate? Matthew 7:13-14 – tells us clearly….Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the way that leads to life, and only a few find it.…
If we are not willing to “lose the weight of sin,” such that… we can enter through the “narrow gate” to Heaven, and choose instead… the wide road to evil…then, we “get what we pay for.”
