“…Too often, though, we go it alone, thinking that“our power” is from within….”

Do we “build” on our own resources, or do we “build” on God as our primary resource?  Personally, I believe that we are building on God’s resources, no matter, to whom credit is given.  The difference is this: when we surrender to God as our Resource Provider, it is then that the Power of God kicks into high-gear.  I don’t think relying on our self, and others, as the primary resource, is necessarily a “bad thing,” as it serves as a confidence builder.  Then, when we deplete the talents that God has given us; we go back to Him to refill our “tool-box.” It is at that certain point in time, that we have emptied our tool-box of all the tricks, that we come to realize that we can go no further, and by  SURRENDERING to GOD, we rely on Him to fulfill our potential.   Too often, though, we go it alone, thinking that“our power” is from within.  How long would a great oak-tree last without water and sun?  Likewise, we can only go to a certain point without re-filling our own gas tank.  Our problem, though, as humans, we too easily forget from where the “real power” comes from.  And, sometimes, it will take a catastrophe to get our attention.  Matthew 14:28-31 “Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.”  “Come,” he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!”  Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of  little faith,” he said, “why did you doubt?” …Blessings…cjlb…2/19/14
