What are we doing to ‘better the world’ …in which we live? What are we doing to develop, maintain, encourage, and sustain our careers? What are we doing to promote, improve, encourage, nourish, and cultivate our family life? What do we do to educate, develop, enhance, guide, engage and protect our children to be their very best? What do we do to enhance, improve, preserve, and further develop our own health, and mental well-being, and that of our family? What are we doing to develop, explore, nurture, and retain our ‘basic’ friendships? What are we doing in our personal lives to enhance, improve, develop, and sustain a ‘life-style’ such that others would want have similar, or to emulate? What are we doing to develop our personal life to accomplish all the goals and life’s journey and support our desired lifestyle? How much time do we devote to improving our skill-set… in our favorite pastime…i.e. golf, fishing, or other ventures of the world? How much time to we spend with God…in PRAYER? Just moments… minutes…or hours?
And lastly… what are we doing to grow, educate, magnify, transform, compel, improve, and promote our life with Our Lord, Jesus Christ, such that our SALVATION is secure in the blood, love, and sacrifice of Jesus Christ?
We spend countless hours, days, months, and years …doing ‘all of these things’ to accomplish ‘what we want for ourselves and family. How much time do we spend developing a simple ‘relationship with Jesus Christ,’ Our Lord and God? We spend, it seems… forever…dealing with the ‘worldly charms,’ and just MINUTES with God…you know… the One who gave it all to us.
How much time to we spend ‘helping’ others. How much time do we spend… just PRAYING for others. Prayer costs ‘us… nothing’ but TIME. And, this ‘type of time’…God will give us plenty of… no need to worry. We are reminded in… 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 – Rejoice always, 17 pray without ceasing, 18 in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
We also… find in James 1:17 – As whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him, it is a sin. The same thing, then…is not necessarily a ‘sin’ for others… but it would be for us. The ‘things we should do, but don’t do’…fall into the category of: thought …word…and deed. We thought about it…we talked about it… and, yet…we still did it… knowing it was WRONG. That, therefore…becomes SINFUL…for us….you and me.
Remember: TRUE… Compassion, and Passion…transforms into ACTION, then LOVE, then PRAYER! As found in Luke 10:37… the story of the Good Samaritan… where the Samaritan comes along, finding a person fallen and sick on the roadside, where he provides for his care, both then…and in the future. He NEVER once considered his own circumstances, or the cost or inconvience of taking care of… and providing for the elderly man. It was an Act of Compassion, Passion… then ACTION, Love, and then Prayer.
… Many Blessings as we pursue God’s PLAN for us….cjlb…8/27/2017
