ANCHORED: Most of us… when we think of being ANCHORED… are talking about a boat or vessel being “anchored” to a dock; or the mooring of a ship to the sea-bottom, to an anchor. I am thinking… in terms… of being “anchored” to a concept, a mission, or a POA…Plan-OF-ACTION.
Unless we “attach” ourselves, or cling to… or in this case…. ANCHOR ourselves to something… as in ‘committing’ in a very big way… then we are chasing a falling star. In business; we do this when we ANCHOR ourselves to a particular Leader, or CEO… one that is really ‘going someplace,’ and we want to tie ourselves to him… in his pursuits… to his ‘rising star.’
We’re thinking, of course, when ‘Our Leader is successful’… then we will be successful along with him. Some might call it…riding his coat-tail. I’m calling it….being ANCHORED. If you… and your Leader are a ‘good match’… then you should get “settled-in,” for the long-haul…. Making a ‘long-term’ commitment.
I’m reminded of the song THE ANCHOR HOLDS… by Ray Boltz… “But it was in the night, Through the storms of my life, Oh, that’s where God proved His love to me.”
We, too… can be ANCHORED, not only, to our career opportunities… but a family issue, maybe a ‘social issue’… or even, more importantly….being ANCHORED to God. He will see us through the “storms of life,” as told to us in…James 1:12 – “Blessed is a man who perseveres under trial; for once he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.”
So, you see…. God is also our ANCHOR…. He will protect us… He will save us. We only have to accept Him as Our Lord and Savior… ask forgiveness, repent… and do our best to follow Him.
The might King David tells us in… Psalm 34:19 – “Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the LORD delivers him out of them all.”
What better partner could we have… as we struggle through the journey of life… Then God? What better ‘protector’… what better Father… then God?
…Blessings to all… as we seek to be ANCHORED with God. …cjlb… 12/6/2017
