“…VALUE-ADDED didn’t start with McDonald’s…rather… The VALUE-ADDED concept started with…”

VALUE-ADDED:  This concept didn’t start with McDonalds…no no…long before then.

If we don’t do more, each day, than what was bargained for… then we’re sitting still.  Always give more than agreed; even if it’s just a SMILE.  What can we… as leaders…do, to ADD VALUE to the project, the employee, our co-worker, our customer, or family member…each day?  Or… do we even try?

Do we give more than we get?  Do we give more than what was bargained for?  Do we leave a sweetener in the deal for the next guy?   When I was much younger, and just getting started in my career… I used to tell my potential employers… “If I don’t SAVE you… twice as much as you pay me in salary… in the first six months… I’ll RESIGN.  It always worked.  And then, later…as I became ‘more successful,’ … I used to tell them… I’ll work the first 90 days without a salary, and if you’re not happy, then you owe me nothing, if you are happy, you owe me twice what my salary would have been.  I never had anyone take me up on that offer.  My POINT being: I wanted my employer to KNOW without RESERVATION … that he was getting ‘more then what he was bargaining for.

No… VALUE-ADDED didn’t start with McDonald’s…rather.  The VALUE-ADDED concept started with GOD.  Not only did God give us His only begotten Son… He “value-added” the deal… by giving us the Holy Spirit…and then, He…gave us…“life-ever-lasting.” John 3:16For God so loved the         world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Scripture tells us how to ‘add value’ and how not to add value in any situation. Proverbs 21:8 says, “The way of man is froward and strange: but as for the pure, his work is right.”  This scripture is telling us that by living a life of purity… that is pleasing to God…then, we will add value and our works will be right.

Remember… All of us are given special gifts, and talents, from God.  And, God expects us to be good stewards of these gifts… and to do good works (value-added) with those resources which He has provided us. 1st Peter 4:10 reminds us to use our gifts as good stewards.  “As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.”

God Bless you… as you pursue a “Value-Added” life…. cjlb…9/10/2017
