“…We can say that we have FAITH that our boss will lead the company to prosperity, but…..”

What is FAITH? How can it be best used, in business, family, socially, and in our Spiritual lives?  Generally, FAITH is a belief that something is true, when there is no proof that it is.  It is a confidence or trust in a person, thing, deity, a view, or doctrine, or teaching.  And, too often the word faith is used as a synonym for hope, trust, or belief.  From a business standpoint … it would be believing that your business venture is going to be successful when in fact, you cannot prove that it will be; but yet, you have hope, trust, and belief that it will succeed.  I believe (to further confuse the issue) that we use the word FAITH too loosely, commercially speaking; putting more reliance on the idea of HOPE, and less on facts and hard work.  We can say that we have FAITH that our boss will lead the company to prosperity, and he will take us along for the ride…but surely no proof.  We can have faith that our spouses will never lie to us, but again…. It’s more likely to be “false hope.”  We can have faith that we can win a car race, a spelling bee, a sporting event, or the hand of the prettiest girl in town…but NO proof of anything.  We can have faith that we will win the “best shag dancer” award at the local club…but is that too… a false hope.  FAITH, however, when used in a spiritual setting; can take on a whole new, different, confident, and hopeful contrast.  While most BELIEVERS claim to believe everything in the bible; yet we have ABSOLUTELY “no-proof” of its validity.  Faith is a very comfortable feeling, especially when it is spiritual.  The fact is; we become “aligned with God,” by exercising the gift of FAITH that He’s given us.  Just the very idea of “believing in God” is having FAITH.  Proverbs 3:5 – Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. Ephesians 2:8 – For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: [it is] the gift of God: Hebrews 11:6 – But without faith [it is] impossible to please [him]: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and [that] he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.   Faith, for me, is trusting in, and freely accepting His will… for me. …Blessings… cjlb… 10/9/14
