We all like “words of encouragement” from time to time. I KNOW that it would make my life easier; how about you? Think for a moment… who did you hear or see getting some form of “encouragement” in the last 48 hours? Anyone? I bet not many…. Now for another question. How many people have YOU encouraged in the last 48 hours? Again, I bet not many. I’m no different than the rest of you. I know it’s a good idea to extend encouragement whenever we can; but I am not that good at it, I know. I think it takes focus and concentration on encouraging people… it’s an “on-going project.” I know it’s a good idea, because I know how it makes me feel when I receive encouragement, especially from my wife, and those others I hold in high esteem. It only takes a moment… it just takes a little effort. But, it could be the very incentive that someone might really NEED on a given day, or issue. It might even be the very stimulus that pushes the person to apply for a job; ask for a raise; or even attend a social event that they felt would be uncomfortable for them. We NEVER know how encouraging someone could change their lives entirely; or even, possibly the results of the next NFL National Championship. Think how ENCOURAGEMENT might affect you. Isaiah 41:10 – So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Hebrews 10:24-25– And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near. Jeremiah 29:11 – For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. …Blessings…cjlb…9/12/14.
