Ok…now for a word about FATHER’S: Most of us learn a lot from our Fathers. Fathers will teach us (or should) all about baseball, football, fishing, hunting, good manners, all about cars… and how to treat women with respect; which… should start with our Mother’s, sisters, teachers, girl-friends, and eventually… our wives. They might even teach us some things we don’t need to know… because some Dads were taught ‘some wrong things to do’ …maybe, by their Fathers.
As for me… My Father left our family home when I was five… and went to California to ‘find himself.’ He was MIA for 50 years… then re-appearing when I was about 56, and died about 10 years later. Starting with my dear Mother… he married six times… marrying my Mother twice. Um… which may account for why I don’t care much for sports, fishing, and …whatever.
I don’t know what I got out of his DNA… I only know who I am, today… and that he lives on in me, my children, and grandchildren… in some form or fashion. We can’t escape our heritage. It is what it is. We can, however… control what we do with the inherited DNA… the inborn skills, the education aspects… and all of those other God-Given attributes. By CHOICE… we can CHOOSE, and PLAN our own DISTINY.
Are some of us… setting idly about… wasting our talents, or do we enhance their effect for the Honor and Glory of God… and for the ‘good of our fellow man?’ By the GRACE of God… we not only have the DNA of our parents and forefathers, but more importantly…we carry the Divine DNA… of God… considering that we are made in His Image.
This is a FACT: God will hold us accountable for His DNA.
We are warned in…Luke 12:48 – “But the one who did not know, and did what deserved a beating, will receive a light beating. Everyone to whom much was given, of him much will be required, and from him to whom they entrusted much, they will demand the more.”
This scripture clearly speaks of judgment. The more often we hear the gospel and yet…still reject it… then the more accountable we will be held… because we knew what was required… yet we refused to do it. For those who don’t know as much about the gospel…such as the Amazon native who lives in the deep recesses of the jungle… then, God will not require as much from them.
