Power is an AWESOME responsibility. Some use their POWER for good of mankind… making it their business to help others attain, and maintain their goals… serving their fellow-man unselfishly. There are others USING their power to harm others, to line their own pockets… serving their own selfish agenda.
To whatever degree that one has power and authority over another; that is the same degree, to which, those others LACK power. What POWER we allow others to have…. We give up that same amount of POWER. Greater attention should be given to the voting processes available to us. All positions of power and authority are, eventually, subject to CHANGE. The lone exception is… DIVINE AUTHORITY.
American Voters seemingly… ‘Care Less’ …who is in elective office? If we give creditability to the Jay-Walking segment on the former Leno Show; you will note that ‘few of our youth’ know much about who is in elective office. They don’t seem to know who, when, and what office is being served. Seemingly, too…. they simply don’t care.
It is our generation that should INSTILL in our children and grandchildren a need-to-know mentality. We are failing our children, and they don’t even know it. Our children are being brought up in an ‘I don’t know, or care, society.’ And the likely REASON is… we parents don’t care.
The BOTTOM-LINE: We are trading Godly people in for ‘satan’s helpers.’ Effecting: Garbage in…garbage out. We have freely-given our power over to those who use it… for their own SELFISH AGENDA. We voters… should be demanding congressional TERM-LIMITS… better known as: Draining the SWAMP. Psalms. 33:12 states, “Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD: and the people whom He hath chosen for His own inheritance.”
Let’s take our responsibility serious… KNOW your candidate. Know what they stand for. Make sure they represent ‘our BEST interest’ and not their own. If we’re happy with ‘abdicating our rights’… by handing ‘our POWER’… over to someone who abuses that power, then we get what we vote for. WE, therefore… are RESPONSIBLE. Proverbs 29:2 states, “When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.”
We have a responsibility to compare the views of each candidate against Bible scripture, and vote accordingly. If we ‘fail to vote’… then we forfeit the right to complain when elected officials enact laws which are contrary to the Godly principles. Prov. 14:34, “Righteousness exhalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.”
Once a man has been elected to office, we also have the responsibility to pray for him. 1 Tim. 2:1-3 states, “I exhort therefore, that, first of all supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be make for all men; for kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior.”
