“…We youngsters were taught to “make-do,” with what we had….”

Be CREATIVE….I can do anything I want (almost), with those elements that I have available to me, to use.  I am reminded of the Apollo 13, which was the 7th manned mission, and the 3rd intended to land on the moon but because of an oxygen explosion, the flight had to be aborted, and despite great hardship caused by limited power, loss of cabin heat, shortage of potable water, and the critical need to jury-rig the carbon dioxide removal system, the crew returned safely to earth 6 days later, on April 17.   The point I make, here, is often times in business, and family situations, we run out of funding, supplies, food, or whatever; and we have to “make-do” with what we have.  We sometimes have to ration expendables, such as was done in WWII, when milk, gas, sugar, tires, cars, etc. were rationed in order to supply our troop overseas.  We sometimes have to do that in our personal family budgets, particularly now, (due to the economy and massive un-employment), where “cutting back, and making-do,” has become a way of life for many impoverished families.  As a young child, during WWII, I watched my Dear Mother, who was also helped assemble airplanes (as in ROSIE-the-RIVITER),  at age 21, mend socks, sew shirts from scraps of yard goods, repair household items (as Dad was in the war), and even plant a “victory garden.”  We youngsters were taught to “make-do,” with what we had.  I’ve carried that skill-set throughout life, and am better for it.  Thank you Dear Mother!  2 Timothy 2:15 – Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. 2 Corinthians – 1:3-5 God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us. For the more we suffer for Christ, the more God will shower us with his comfort through Christ. …Blessings…cjlb…5/19/14
