“…What would we do, or what could we do….to survive? …”

??????????????????????Friendship and Things:   Do we need it?  Or, do we need them?  We all go through our daily routines with, pretty much, anything we want (or at least need), right at our finger tips.  With the age of the computer, we all have available so many tools that it’s mind boggling.  Some of us get to the point where we think we can “go it alone.”  As long as I have my laptop….who needs a friend?  The question I raise is: Do we need all of this stuff, or people…. friends?  What would we do, say, if suddenly, due to some unexpected catastrophic condition came up (tornado, hurricane, economic collapse) and we found ourselves without these luxuries. Would we get along?  Could we manage?  Or, worse, could we survive?  It’s something to think about.  What would we do, suppose, if we were kidnapped, and taken to some remote place… without food, water, transportation, or money… only the clothes on our back… and we were 100 miles from the nearest place of convenience?  What would we do, or what could we do…. To survive?  Even if there were five people in the group, and they all had the same problem to contend with; while prayer might help… sometimes God delays His response for some unknown reason.  Can we handle it?  Remember: Safety in numbers.  Don’t go it alone…. Stay together.  Friends are more important than “things.”  Isaiah 35:1-10The wilderness and the dry land shall be glad; the desert shall rejoice and blossom like the crocus; it shall blossom abundantly and rejoice with joy and singing. The glory of Lebanon shall be given to it, the majesty of Carmel and Sharon. They shall see the glory of the Lord, the majesty of our God. Strengthen the weak hands, and make firm the feeble knees. Say to those who have an anxious heart, “Be strong; fear not! Behold, your God will come with vengeance, with the recompense of God. He will come and save you.” Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf unstopped… …Blessings… cjlb…6/6/14
