THE MIRROR TEST: Mirror …Mirror on the wall…who’s the fairest of them all? What do you see when you look in the mirror? Invariably…we see something different than that which others see. My heart and brain see one thing… but my eyes see something wholly different. So the question begs an answer.
What do others actually see when they look, or interact, with us?
Do they see “high quality” attributes…such as…Sincerity? Integrity? Truth? Good example? Commitment? Love? Forgiveness? Fairness? Security? Compromise? Compassion? Indulgence? Respectfulness? Endurance? Intuition? Foresightedness? Loyalty? Faithfulness? Experience? Energy? Good Morals? Responsibility? Mercy? Transparency? Passion? Happiness? Do they see JOY in your heart? Do they see a smile on your face?
Or… do they see Narcissism, an evil eye, a lazy approach? A fowl mouth? Poor…to no morals? Lack of direction? Low energy? Disrespect? A lack of Integrity?
If these “high-quality-characteristics” are not easily identifiable as to their presence… as part of your character… then, very likely, you’re not LEADERSHIP material. In fact…you really don’t have very much going for you, and you’re probably eligible for a complete character evaluation and makeover. Dr. Phil likely would be interested in helping you…on national TV…too.
When looking in the mirror… You may not see “the real you” …but be assured…others do,
All that aside… The better questions is…what does God see when He looks at us…you, and me? I am saved by grace as a gift, not because of my performance. We are told in Ephesians 2:8 that…“God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God.”
