“…While ‘walking on the edge’ …can be fun and crafty… it can also be hazardous and deadly.  My own experience… over the years… tells me that for those who ‘walk the edge’… and FALL… very seldom is…”

ADVENTURE:  Don’t we all, on occasion, want to walk on the “wild side?”  There’s a level of excitement in the unknown, sometimes, hazardous adventure that awaits us when we get off course.  As in all adventures, one must be careful to prepare themselves for the unknown.

This is true, all most… all of the time, as we navigate the Leadership journey.  Every day is an adventure, or it should be, and if it’s not, then maybe we should alter course, a bit, so as to add that certain element that keeps everything interesting and challenging.  A good Leader can do this with his/her eyes shut.

But with ADVENTURE…too often comes…sin.  If the adventure sounds too good to be true… then it is… too good to be true.  At the end of ‘that particular’ rainbow…maybe satan in disguise.  He likes to fool us.

As Leaders… we have a RESPONSIBILITY to ourselves, and our constituency… not to be FOOLED… least of all…by satan.  Remember: satan buys his cloths at the same shop that we buy ours.  You remember the song/movie…Pretty Woman.  Buyer Beware!

We can often identify someone who is walking on the edge.  LISTEN.  What is their subject matter?  How do they dress?  Have they had a sudden change in their manner.   How do they treat their Mother-in-Law?  And, my favorite…Who’s INTEREST do they place FIRST and foremost?  Their own, yours… or God?

Ephesians 4:26-28Be angry, yet do not sin.” Do not let the sun set upon your anger, and do not give the devil a foothold.   He who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing good with his own hands, that he may have something to share with the one in need.…

While ‘walking on the edge’ …can be fun and crafty… it can also be hazardous and deadly.  My own experience… over the years… tells me that for those who ‘walk the edge’… and FALL… very seldom is there someone there to ‘help them up.’

Proverbs 3:5-6…“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.”

……Blessings as we ‘walk the edge’ of life…cjlb… 10/23/2017
