“…Would one MARRY one evil over the another evil… instead… wouldn’t they refuse to marry either….”

Which to CHOOSE, between the LESSER of two EVILS:  If one MUST choose between two evils, then choose the one you have the least experience.  Why, you may ask?

All of us are faced with choosing between two evils, some… too often.  Take the recent presidential election… for an example.  They’re some people who felt that ‘both candidates’ were the worst of choices.  Others were able to find “some good” in one candidate over the other.  Some even, I’ll bet… just ‘flipped a coin.’  And WORSE…some refused to vote.

Having to choose one evil over the other is not a ‘uncommon’ experience, particularly if you own your own company.  There will be ‘varying degrees’ with which we will be confronted with, over time…no matter the career choice.  For some, this type of issue, one evil outcome over another evil outcome…. Even filters into their personal, social, and spiritual lives.

For me… when having to make a CHOICE of ‘one evil over another,’ I will ‘always opt’ for the one I have the least experience.  That is to say: I would choose the one I know the least about (after exhausting all due-diligence).  Because; the one you know the MOST about, and still cannot stand, the outcome should be CLEAR to you; making the choice easier.  The one you know least about… will, at least surprise you with how he/she were to work out… over the for-seeable future….and, you will be contributing to a learning process.

Why would we want to choose one evil over the other… anyway?  Sometimes we are forced into a corner… and have to.  In personal issues… there should NEVER be that type of choice.  Would one MARRY one evil over the another evil… instead… wouldn’t they refuse to marry either.  The problem comes when ‘YOU HAVE to select’ one over the other.

Another example would be:  EMPLOYMENT.  If you have been out of a job for six months, bills are piling up, medical expenses, maybe school tuition and child care…and more… what to do?  Choose the bad job, which pays twice as much as the lesser of the bad jobs… or taking the taking the lesser of the bad jobs, and make one-half as much money.  Tough decision!

Again, for me… I would likely opt for the ‘higher-paying’ position, and work as hard as I could to find a better job, as quick as I could… but in the meantime, I would be able to pay my bills.  To further my example…  if you were adamant about ‘not being around alcoholic beverages,’ and refused to accept a job in a liquor distillery, because of your FIRM commitment…well, working at such a place does not mean that you ‘have to drink’ the product.  Or if your religion is against ‘automobiles’…and you’re offered a job at an automobile manufacturing facility; does not mean you…suddenly, have to start driving cars.  One has to use a little COMMON sense.  Of course… if you were anti-abortion, then heck NO… you would NEVER accept a job at an abortion clinic.  Again… use a little common sense.

Refer to Proverbs 6:30-31Men do not despise a thief if he steals To satisfy himself when he is hungry; …Even so… when he is found, he must repay sevenfold; He must give all the substance of his house.  This simply means that… while it is WRONG to steal… there could be some extenuating circumstances… one would not allow his child to die of hunger…if the only way to feed the child was with ‘stolen food.’  But, even so, his day of reckoning MUST come.  He still has to repay, repent, and conduct himself, such that… in the future… he would not have to steal again.
