GPS: The Global Positioning System (GPS) is a space-based satellite navigation system that provides location and time information in all weather conditions, anywhere on or near the Earth where there is an unobstructed line of sight to four or more GPS satellites.
Now-a-days, we can’t seem to get too far around the bend without our GPS. I like the “turn-by-turn” feature that generally gets you exactly where you want to go. Sometimes, though the darn thing will take you out of the way from where you want to go….but eventually, will get you there, despite the contraption. Soon, it will be just like a Cell-Phone…. You just can’t get along without it.
Anyway…. Wouldn’t it be nice to have a GPS that took you from “A to Z”….navigating life and career journeys… Giving you the exact “turn-by-turn” elements so necessary to maneuver though all of life? It would save a lot of money; valuable time; miss-guided twists and turns; being over or under educated; even clothing advice; social direction; and family and spiritual guidance.
But wait… are we about to tread on God’s territory? Um…probably so… but if the GPS ever gets smart enough to keep me out of sin, then “it” must be an instrument of God. But the fact is: the GPS cannot help us. Staying out of sin is still the responsibility of us human-kind. God gave us the ability, a very special GIFT… called free-will, when He created us.
If there is a “spiritual GPS,” then it must be called a “Bible-GPS.” The Bible has on the coordinates that we might, remotely, need to find our way to Heaven. The Bible gives us the precise directions, the most direct travel instructions, and the least expensive way…. To get to Heaven. We are clearly told the “directions” in John 3:16 – For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Romans10:9 – That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For me…. I intend to keep my BIBLE-GPS, close to my heart, lest… I get side-tracked, on my journey to Heaven.
