“… You see…. For the last several weeks, a number of “set-backs” seem to resurface, causing me discomfort…”

"Listen to me........."

“How does one thank The Lord God?”

How does one thank the Lord God for all that He’s done for you? How does he do it in the most appropriate of words? And, in so doing, that it would meet the most sincere of thanks that one can possibly relay to The God of all Creation. That’s my predicament. You see…. For the last several weeks, a number of “set-backs” seem to resurface, causing me discomfort. They’re reminders of people that have disappointed me, lied about me, causing me great harm… costing me substantial sums of money. One might suggest that I’ve not gotten over those issues. That would be wrong, as I’m a big supporter of the “forgive seven times seventy” teaching. Forgiveness is not the issue. I admit that I think about all of them from time-to-time, but not often “all at the same time;” such as is the current case. This causes me to reflect, AGAIN, on the good verses the evil. I have to stand reminded that God has so “over-whelming” blessed me… over the years…beyond my imagination. “God-is-Good.” In worldly terms… I’ve been blessed 100’s of times. In spiritual terms…1000’s of times. The most important of these would be good health for all in my family. Who could ask for more? It just doesn’t seem a casual prayer of thanks is significant. But, I’ve come to realize that even though He calls us to pray often…. What God expects of me, is to live a life that REFLECTS my appreciation, and my blessings. He expects me to pray for and to love and respect others. He expects me to live a life that reflects the Ten Commandments, and The Golden Rule. He reminds me to live a life that is governed by Godly ideals, and not economic values. 1 John 1:5-7 tell us: “If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.”  To walk in the light simply means to walk in all of God’s ways.  Then in Matthew 22:35-38 it says: ‘Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?’ Jesus said to him, ‘”You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.” This is the first and great commandment.”  Here, Jesus Himself put His divine stamp of approval on the idea that the most important thing that we can do is to love our God , and then, one another.  Blessings…cjlb…7/7/14
